Year 5 Market Reflection

We have just had our Year 5 Market and I want to tell some of the highlights of the day. At the start of the day we had to prepare by putting decorations and our products that we had made. Then students came to buy our products, during when the students went shopping we had to run our stall. The most popular thing at our stall is was basketball shots, which nearly most people liked. Some people even used all of their money on the basketball shots, someone even traded a stress ball for a basketball shot! In the end we managed to make $99.60 and out of all of the stalls money we made $6008.60!

Name an item that could be sold at a market and what is it’s use?

Term 1 reflection

Term 1 is coming to an end and we all need to show what we have all done this wonderful term.

Year 5 have done many great and fun things to start of the year and can’t wait to find out what’s next. I’ve done lots of fun thing that I’m willing to tell you.

Meeting new students and teachers is a big start to the year especially year 5. In year 5 we get some new students since we have 4 classes not 3 like normal. I’ve made many new friends so far even though it’s the first term.

In year 5 you start A.P.S which it just P.E but instead of the teacher picking what you do the students pick it them selfs. We did rock climbing, swimming, bike riding and a triathlon to end the term. I showed resilience because when I was riding my bike I found it hard to catch up with everyone else but in the end I was smooth and was able to catch up.

We have also been to the Great Victoria Market for idea’s for the year 5 market in term 2. We got to see how shops were displayed and how they attract customers to their shop. A funny thing about the market was when we were looking thought the butcher shops someone working at a butcher shop at the market said “hey kids have you ever seen a chicken foot,” some of us were disgusted as some were laughing their brains out! In the end we got some drinks and knew some good idea’s for our markets.

I also learned lots of things in term 1. In maths I learned lots of new ways to solve multiplication and division, such as lattice, box, place value and the bus stop. Another thing I learned well was make good persuasive and narratives. I learned was to persuade people and ways to make stories interesting like using sizzling starts, tightening tension, show don’t tell and dialogue. Without learning these thing it would of made term 1 a lot harder.

Some goals I am placing are to do better editing in my writing and looking for spelling errors and punctuation. Another goal I’m making is to be prepared for school and try not to be late and adapt to our new lockers.

I’ve had a fun term 1 and can’t wait for what’s next. What is something that you are proud of so far this year?
